From Gordie: I’ve been foraging a bunch over the last few weeks. Pine Pollen, Wild Radish, Nasturtiums, and Plums! I also found a huge, new-to-me patch of blackberries that I’m waiting on to ripen. In the meantime, I have soooo many plums I think I will make Pflaumenmus (plum butter) and Clafoutis (baked stone fruit custard). Here are a couple of recipes I found. Give them a try if you have stone fruit to spare!

To my fellow Wondercanoers,

I took this picture on my usual stroll in my neighborhood. The assignment was to find something new in a familiar place, and even though I’ve walked this route every week I never noticed these bright roses blooming in the sun. When I looked closely, I saw the yellow and pink flowers had, just by being near each other, created a stunning new rose with sunlight yellow petals and blush pink edges.

Y’all were great camp mates during these 3 weeks. It’s been a joy to see you two at the campfire and chat in our Wondercanoe team breakout room. Have a beautiful rest of your summers and I wish you both well on your next adventures!
